61 kiddos tried out for the MCT last night and all got a part! The Wizard of Oz is in full motion....thanks to Vicki Holmes for becoming our accompanist! Much appreciated!

PIANO PLAYER
We are in desperate need of a piano player to accompany the Missoula Children's Theatre next week. The accompanist practices with the them from about Tuesday on and the performances are Friday at 7 and Saturday at 1. Pay is $100.00. Please call me at 467-2425.

Preschool Screening
Wednesday is Preschool Screening at Fairfield Schools provided by the Golden Triangle Coop. This service is provided to any child from birth to Kindergarten to screen their developmental progress. Please contact Terria at the Elementary School to set up an appointment.

Smarter Balanced Trial
Fourth and Fifth graders took the "practice" test for the Smarter Balanced test that they will take next week. Needless to say there is quite the learning curve for the kiddos since this is a computer based assessment. Initial thoughts on the test from the kids is that they liked the format for the most part. I think several things: our keyboarding skills have to increase drastically and we will have to become better at picking apart our reading to see the "fine" details of the questions asked. After the "big" test next week we will have a better idea of what is involved as this was a 6 question test that took each class an average of 45 minutes to answer. :) Glad to see the weather is finally cooperating with the track gods....

MCT/FLY
1. We are looking for someone to host our Missoula Children's Theatre teachers. Your family would need to provide a bedroom for a teacher from Sunday, April 28 to Saturday May 4. You do not need to provide meals, however, it is a nice gesture for them. Please let me know if you are interested ASAP. One teacher needs to be hosted in a dog free environment.
2. A Meal and a Mini-Mall fundraiser for the FLY program (our after school program) is on April 23rd at 5:00 PM. There are over 20 vendors showing their wares for sale at this fundraiser! There will be a free will offering meal provided as well. Please come out and show your support!

Happy Friday to all of you!
Next week the 4th and 5th grade students will take the Smarter Balanced Pilot Test. This is the "test" that will eventually take place of the current CRT in the state of Montana! Fairfield is one of 6000 schools nation-wide that will be participating in the Scientific Pilot! Both grades will be tested in ELA (English Language Arts) and we anticipate that this will give us some idea of how the test is constructed and then in turn allow us to make some curriculum decisions along with the data we collect on the students as to what is best for our school!
This is a nerve wracking, exciting, progressive process that will give us a "one up" on other schools and create an understanding of the new common core expectations! Thanks for all your support of Fairfield Schools!
Good Luck to the Junior High Track Team at the Fairfield Invitational in Great Falls tomorrow!

Teton Tigers
The Teton Tigers are playing tonight at 7:00 in the big gym. There is a Taco Bar from 5:30-6:45 as a free will offering which will go to support the Special Olympics Team in their endeavors this spring! If you have never seen the Tigers play, it is a heart warming, fulfilling experience that you should have! Go Tigers!
