A few things that are coming up....Jan. 12th-15th will be winter benchmark week in RtI and we will see how much the kids have improved in their learning. We will problem solve on the 16th which means we will gather all the data from the weeks assessments and take a look at those kiddos who are behind and need an extra boost, readjust some of our groupings, and take a look at how we are teaching in the classroom!

January 16th: There will be no school for the kiddos....teachers will be preparing for next semester and problem solving....

February 6th: The 4th Graders will take the NAEP (National Assessment for Educational Progress) please make sure that your student is here that day!

Book Fair is coming up the first week of February!

February 16th is No School!

And then it is a fast and furious finish until the end of the year! Thanks all for your support!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16553582538082614162noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4955754664295680972.post-36771505845832902222014-10-30T09:21:00.000-06:002014-10-30T09:21:07.129-06:00HalloweenPlease no crazy costumes on Halloween.
No props that look like weapons....
Kids will be going to the Junior High Haunted House and Dance here at the school. IF they want to attend the Haunted House it is $1.00 per time. There will be treats and dancing if they don't.

Just a reminder that K-6 students attending the football game that evening MUST have an adult that is responsible for them at the game.

Activity tickets do not work for playoff games. This is an MHSA sanctioned rule. Cost is $6.00 for Students and $7.00 for adults.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16553582538082614162noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4955754664295680972.post-23579036559806787192014-10-20T15:31:00.001-06:002014-10-20T15:31:54.048-06:00The past six weeks flew byFairfield Elementary School has been so busy!!!! We have cruised through benchmark testing and got our differentiated groups going and those kids in need of intervention and double dosing are being addressed! We have jumped in with both feet with some additional math materials to help the teachers when addressing their common core standards! The first season of Junior High Sports has started and finished and we had our fall break! We are headed steadfastly into the end of the first quarter, parent teacher conferences and the busy season!

If you haven't contacted the office about signing up for Parent Teacher Conferences please do so ASAP!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16553582538082614162noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4955754664295680972.post-64505047718355780382014-09-04T14:57:00.000-06:002014-09-04T14:57:41.089-06:00It's been a pretty successful first week! It's been a great start to the new year in Fairfield Elementary!

The kitchen looks great! The teachers are excited! From the looks of the kiddos at night they are a little tired the first week but now they are rocking and rolling this week!

The Elementary staff did some training before the year started and are excited about trying some new Math techniques that they learned!

This morning I watched a second grader conduct Algebra skills using total number of kids in their class, how many students were absent and lunch count to make and solve an Algebra problem! Amazing! Amazing!

Common Core Math which may be frustrating to some parents has allowed this type of thinking and problem solving to occur at levels that were beyond our reach before!
