Kids will be going to the Junior High Haunted House and Dance here at the school.  IF they want to attend the Haunted House it is $1.00 per time.  There will be treats and dancing if they don't.

Just a reminder that K-6 students attending the football game that evening MUST have an adult that is responsible for them at the game.

The past six weeks flew by

Fairfield Elementary School has been so busy!!!!  We have cruised through benchmark testing and got our differentiated groups going and those kids in need of intervention and double dosing are being addressed!   We have jumped in with both feet with some additional math materials to help the teachers when addressing their common core standards!  The first season of Junior High Sports has started and finished and we had our fall break!  We are headed steadfastly into the end of the first quarter, parent teacher conferences and the busy season!

If you haven't contacted the office about signing up for Parent Teacher Conferences please do so ASAP!

It's been a pretty successful first week!

It's been a great start to the new year in Fairfield Elementary!

The kitchen looks great!  The teachers are excited!  From the looks of the kiddos at night they are a little tired the first week but now they are rocking and rolling this week!

The Elementary staff did some training before the year started and are excited about trying some new Math techniques that they learned!

Please check out the additional blogs to see info about our great school!

Smarter Balanced testing to begin March 31st!
Please see that your children are here it is vital!

Other testing tips:

  • ƒ Make sure your child gets a good night's sleep before a test, and make sure your child eats properly the day of a test.
  • ƒ Make sure your child has taken any needed medication.
  • ƒ Ensure that your child is present during testing (children generally perform better when taking tests in their groups rather than at a make-up time).
  • ƒ Get your child to school on time the day of the test.
  • ƒ Wish your child good luck each morning of the test. Tell your child that he/she is special and that you believe in him/her!
  • ƒ Remind your child the test is important. Encourage him/her to do his/her best.
  • ƒ If your child is too ill to attend, please call the school office.
  • ƒ Remind your child to listen carefully to the instructions from the teacher and to read the directions and each question carefully.
  • ƒ Encourage your child to stay focused on the test, even if other students finish early.

Welcome Back!

As we jump into 2014 and the semester is about to finish, I want to make the parents aware that the K-6 report card will look quite different.  We will continue to have the old style for the rest of the year and in addition to that we will start with a Math Standards Based report card which is aligned to the common core standards.  Look for future info to come.
